I don't like the sound of a blow off valve either, except on a high HP race car.
A far as the pros and cons of each...here is my view on them. A turbo is free horsepower. As the spent exhaust is exiting out the tailpipe, why not use to spin a turbo..... Now a SC will have the cool factor......but in my opinion, on a four cylinder a SC just has to much parasitic drag...Think of it like turning on your A/C, on a small engine you really feel the load while on a V8 you don't notice it as much.
