I have my rear plate mounted inside of my hatch with a bracket coming off of a headrest. I truly do no want to drill my rear bumper and have actually looked into the magnet idea myself. The flip up will be hard to achieve as their isn't enough room between the bumper and the diffuser to actually "flip" the plate into place. But it would be possible to make a bracket that slid up through the opening.

As for installing the front, mine was no harder then an OEM front bumper, but I also have all of the lights shaved so its a little different process.
