Training Log for Running, Cycling, and Triathlon | dailymile Great site for sharing your work out activity. Really geared mostly for running, but you can track other work outs as well. If you don't know the actual distances of your run, you can actually plot your starting / ending points (and various points along the way), and it'll calculate it. Won't work real well with trail running, but still.

Also, if you're getting serious about outdoor running, a Garmin watch is ESSENTIAL. They're pricey, but definitely the absolute best tool I've ever purchased for working out. It's dead on with mileage. Tells you your current average pace. You can even setup pace alerts that'll warn you if you drop below a certain threshold.

I can't stand indoor running and avoid it at all costs. The treadmill is the worst, but even the track at the gym sucks. No matter what the weather, I prefer to run outside. If you dress appropriately, you can run outdoors all year long. I've been out there when it's 5 degrees and snowing. It takes a little getting used to, but once you do, it's no problem at all. And beats the heck out of the boredom of running inside.
