It may come to tape and Velcro eventually, but the glove box was less of a pain to take out than I thought--I had the whole dash torn apart to run cables during the install, but it's only about 8 screws to remove just the glove box. I just put it back in like it was, and cable-tied around the plastic pocket (which had a notch that was probably meant for cable ties
in the first place).
I found this cable online, which I may buy if it happens again or for a future install. They also have a 1/8" panel-mount extender for a stealthy rear-Aux.
