I did not have a single scratch in my 10 year old dash.... They did fix it, by using a flat finish paint (it turned out pretty good). Also, I have never used those sun shades, anytime I think about buying one, I can not find them, so I don't think the Texas sun did it, it's bizarre it did it to just one spot.
Hey Benny - I'm CaliCat because my name is Cathy and people call me Cat sometimes, and I lived in California for several years, loved it and still consider it my home. Anyway, thanks for the idea. Will that piece come out for me to do that (or have it done)? I guess it will... I mean, they have to be able to replace the dash if it's damaged in an accident, right? It didn't do it in just the one place... it's a little like that on the passenger side too, just not nearly as bad as on the driver side. It's really noticeable on the drivers side, like faded out or something.

I actually wouldn't mind one of those stupid dash covers IF it stopped at the seam between the dash parts and didn't have that lip coming forward in the middle part to the front part of the dash toward the radio (did that make sense)? That's the part that looks stupid to me. If they made one that covered just the one part of the dash that I need under the forward part of the windshield and stopped along the seam between the dash parts, that wouldn't look so bad to me.
