Hid...don't go cheap on ballasts
Interesting miss hap...I recently bought the "black-bodied" headlights for my beetle and what sealed the deal was they included the hid lights and ballasts with them...
Don't be fooled with cheap HID kits. The good ones have gotten so cheap now...spend an extra couple of bucks so you don't have to do it twice like me.
Long story short, the hids worked great for 3 days before one of the ballasts fried. A week later, I was installing a set of ddm slim ballasts... There was no comparison in quality and the light from these ddm ballasts and bulbs are MUCH brighter...
