I've ridden in an Inafla branded converted late 98 Beetle. It's had the top going on 6 years without any leaks. HOWEVER, that's an Inalfa brand top and they stopped making New Beetle sliders some time ago.
The owner lives in Maryland and it rained the whole weekend I was up there.
However I don't disagree that these generic roofs may leak a lot more than the Inalfa ones. The Inalfa branded ones seemed to be really really good, but really really rare.
I want one too but am torn on it. I'd almost rather perma-fix the glass from a sunroof beetle into mine but it's so tempting to get the slider. I fear it would affect my roofrack I'm looking at getting.
