This week in NASCAR: Brooklyn, MI (week 23)... MATT WINS!!!

It's always kind of a big deal with NASCAR comes to Michigan (being as all the manufacturers are in Detroit). This race was a real good one. Nice, close, fast racing with only a few cautions. Lap 1 brought trouble for points leader Jimmie Johnson (good for Matt, who is in 2nd in points) with a blown right front tire. Matt took the lead early and held it for a few laps. But the fist half of the race saw Earnhardt Jr. having the dominant car.

As the race progressed, cautions and pit strategy started playing a part and the field got pretty mixed up. with about 30 laps to go, Matt regained the lead and never looked back. This is Mattie's 3rd win of the season and 2nd career victory at Michigan International Speedway. He is now only 58 points behind Johnson with 3 more races until the Chase for the Championship.
