Yup, I'm in!

This is me at the first 07 event. Most girls want rides, I guess I'm more approachable than those jerks* in the hondas.

I'm going to get klobbered... oh well.

Welcome newbee_tul!! So, you are in DSP also? What have you done to your pod to put it into DSP?

Great shot, you look completely lined up for that turn, eyes looking forward to the next cone. Text book driving..

How did you do?

Cool, who else is in?

Ok, I came in fourth on Sunday. Not too bad for my first time out this year, plus all of the other six DSP drivers were running on DOT Race Tires (slicks).

Plus, most of my competition are driving BMW 325is's or a MINI Cooper S. So, all things considered, I can't complain.

I did beat a guy in a VR6 GTI and a BMW 325 with my street tire riding Pod though.

It was a good time out, but typical SCCA event. Working heat went long, and we were bumped out over an hour and a half before we could climb in and take our turns.

Here is a link to the May 6 results.

Cool, who else is running with the SCCA or a local car club?

I used to run SCCA SOLO-II autocross in my 1972 Super Beetle. Actually took first in Novice H/S once!

I ran an event or two earlier this year; but I missed the latest event (last weekend) due to unforeseen circumstances.

Phrog's down now though; and under the knife. He'll be back soon, better than before. Quicker, able to apply power in turns, louder, and breathing just a little bit better.

I did get video recently though! I finally pulled many races from the camcorders; I'll post a few headrest mount videos in the next couple days.

Cool Mark, you should take your new pod out and do it again..

Ron, you've got my interest peaked? Limited Slip? Intercooler?

What ever your doing to Phrog, it sounds cool.

Can't wait to see the video. Wish I had brought my camera and camera mount this past weekend.

The course was very fast, as I hit 60+ during one stretch of it.

The Evo, Lotus and Z06 guys were going faster than that over the same section...

Not your typical auto-x course, but it was cool...

My clutch fork failed.

So I got a new transmission, turbo rebuild kit, and a forge motorsport inlet pipe.

I'll be heaven once I pass the re-break-in period.

Alrighty, this Sunday, May 27th, is my second autox event for the season. This will definately be a much smaller and slower layout than last time.

The area that we are using is very restricted and if it wasnt' 10 minutes from my house, I would probably skip it.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out after Sunday.

Anyone else have an event comming up?

I head to Salina, Ks in the morning to run in the Wichita Region MidDiv. Got the car back togather tonight at around nine o'clock. It still has a little bit of a leak at the turbo but that will have to wait for a few more weeks before it gets looked at again. For some reason I am only boosting to 3 pounds so I'll have to drive it like it is a Neon.

How has autocross been going for everyone? Is anyone doing any national/prosolo events? We're almost halfway through our season here, things are going well. Its tough with cars like the Mazda 3 and the Cooper in HS, but slicks help a bit. Is anyone else running race rubber? What are your tires of choice? Just thought I'd stop by to say hi and wish everyone luck! I don't have any good pictures though...

Hey Z, welcome back to the discussion.

Yep, the Mazda's and MINI's are tough cars to compete against in Auto-x. I run in DSP, so my biggest challengers are the BMW 325 I's and such.

I just got a used set of Faulkin's and man, are they nice. Huge difference over the Khumo performance streets that I was using.

Tomorrow, I will be at Pocono Raceway for a day of Time Trialing. This is our club's, EMRA (see link below), 3rd event of the season. The Time Trialing is what I really like and have prepped the car for.

I really don't try and tweak the car set-up for Auto-x'ing, other than different tire pressues. I've got my pod set-up to have a lot of power between the 70 and 115mph range.

Took some of the low-end away, but the mid-to-top is kick'n now.

I'll try and post up some pics if I can from tomorrow.

Thanks,

TechnoTrix'd.....

Hey gang,

Well, the car was more than ready, but the driver really suxed....

I definately had the power advantage over my Miata friends, but they just out-drove me on Thursday.

So, props to them, and I need to do some more learn'n...

But, the day was awesome as I had over an hour and a-half of flat-out track time...

It doesn't get better than that. I do have ton's of video, but I need to find out how to get it onto the computer and compress it down so I can post it.

Also, I took a few pics of some of the other cars that were out on Thursday. Aside from the TR-4a and the Jag, there were three new cars all over 100g's.

There was an BMW M6, an AMG C-series (supercharged...) and a factory race prepared GT-3..

Cool stuff..

Ok here are the pics:

1-3 are pics of the TR-4a
4-6 are pics of the Jag
7 is the GT-3
8-9 is a real 1988 Nascar Oldsmobile (road course set-up - 580hp)
10-11 are pics of a Cobra 427 (race prepared)

Enjoy......TechnoTrix'd....
