Default StudBug back in NYS ...

"Cowboy" Kenny Bartram sold the StudBug and it's new home is now Oswego, NY. Kinda interesting that the world's first New Beetle Rally Car's first home was NY (Rochester area), its second and third homes were Sand Springs and Stillwater, Oklahoma and now it's back in NYS. Next time I hear from the new owner I'll suggest they sign up here so we can all keep up with the StudBug.

MIKE! We figured you were gone after you sold Studbug. Glad to see you are still around!

Any idea if Studbug will still be racing?

I hope his new home will keep him alive and racing. He is famous, and I hope he stays that way. Oh, how I wish I could have given StudBug a loving new home. You can bet I would have loved him forever.

Mike, great to see you.

I'm already on, I've been on for a while. This is where I saw he was for sale and convinced the parents to buy him (because I'm a poor college kid and can't afford another car haha). I don't know if the parents will sign up, they're not into the whole forum thing.

Studbug is doing well. My dad is working on getting him registered and inspected so we can get him racing asap! Unfortunately the road rally season is over already, but I plan on rallycrossing him as often as possible. I'll be sure to post pictures if the event on March 8th happens.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

It finally stopped snowing long enough to take a few pictures of the bugs.

You know you're obsessed when...

It looks like its going to stay cold for the next two weeks (imagine that), so hopefully the next pictures will be from the rallycross!!

You will never know how happy I am to know where StudBug is. He is my all time favorite New Beetle. I am also humbled to have sat in him, and rode in the passenger seat with Mike. It was unbelievable that StudBug was even in my driveway! (see below )Please take good care of my beloved SB. I know you will!

Default StudBug - Doing Well In Oswego

Parental Units Here!

The StudBug has getting the "royal treatment" over the past couple of weeks (its in the garage getting TLC'ed and my MINI is out in the snow).

We got the 'standard' tags this afternoon and will mount them this evening. Hoping to gets some 'custom' tags like 1RALLYNB or RALLYBUG (STUDBUG is not available, although we plan to ask the DMV if it has that tag "set aside").

Once we get the 'street legal' seat belts [their Blue, too] in (competition ones are staying in and can be clipped into the eye bolts used to mount the new ones), the StudBug's on the road again.

Thanks a million Mad Mike and "Cowboy" Kenny for helping us "hooked up" with the StudBug.

Take good care of the former Okie rally-Bug! I can't wait to hear more about his future adventures!

Welcome Parental Units.. Congrats on purchasing a piece of VW history. I believe that your daughter has the "racing" bug in her, as she has posted a number of auto-x pics over the past few years.

Mike is a great guy, and I am sure has passed on a wealth of knowledge about finding the checkered flag faster than the other cars.

Please keep us posted on StudBug's progress.

Thanks....TechnoTrix'd...

Hi - Thanks!! We are very happy and proud to have the StudBug living with us! He will be a happy little bug living with his new brother, the autocross bug and his sister, the Satellite Blue bug (the Queen). Oh yes, his other brother, the MINI Cooper S!! Can't leave him out! We are hoping the weather cooperates so the StudBug can finally go out and play in the snow at a rallycross event this saturday!! We will always keep you posted and post pictures of the StudBugs new adventures!!! My daughter and husband will be his main drivers. My job is to keep him washed and shiny between events! We love him too!!! Mad Mike and Cowboy Kenny were wonderful to do business with - many thanks!! The StudBug will be well taken care of - lots of TLC and outside doing what he does best, playing in the dirt!!!!

Saturday was fun. We drove through a blizzard to get to the event, and it was freezing rain all day, but still fun. The snow and mud were fine at the beginning of the day, but ended up getting too deep for the cars toward the afternoon so we had to cut the event short. Studbug did well of course. Pics:

Pics of the other cars here on my friends site. Enjoy.
