Default Autocross / Rallcross competiveness?

Hi there - I'm thinking about purchasing a used NB Turbo S, and although it's mostly going to be a daily driver, I was also planning to use it for some autoX and maybe even rallyx. So I wanted to pose the question to the community - how competitive is the NB turbo? (I'm not looking for a national champ btw, just something regionally - I'm in New England).

So I've run a search on the forums, and although there are some tips and hints spread throughout, there didn't appear to be any conclusive posts on the subject.

Thanks!

Ten-E

I autocrossed my Turbo S when I first got it....once, but it's too hard on a car that I need to last me years. I will say that it did awesome. I beat quite a few cars that are faster than mine, but it's not really about how fast your car is, it's about how well it handles and how well you handle IT! Mine is stock mechanically and I gave a 70s vette, an 86 turbo supra, and a few others a run for their money. With some suspension and brake upgrades I think it would do very well IMO, but it is alot of abuse on something you are going to drive everyday.

Talk to member TechnoTrix'd, he's competed w/ an '01 NB 1.8T for a few years. He can prolly tell you what they're capable of time-wise and what other vehicles he's competitive against.
