Default SpeedTV petition ...

This may be mentioned elsewhere here but it bears being repeated. Here's the note I just sent most everyone in my address book (which, surprisingly enough, is mostly filled with gearheads) -

Pardon me for intruding, but I need your help
increasing the impact of a simple, online petition.
SpeedTV has replaced real motorsports, like the World
Rally Championship, road racing and motorcycle racing
with so-called "reality shows" like Unique Whips
(pimping out Cadillac trucks), Texas Hardtails
(lightly rehearsed show about BS at a bike shop) and
several others I have yet to watch since there's
nothing SPEED about any of them, so I signed an online
petition and would ask you to spend a couple of
minutes to sign it. Please visit -
http://www.petitiononline.com/SpdTV/petition.html - to
help "the cause."

Thanks!

Mike ...

Thank you!

If I ever win a big lottery, one of the things I would do with my money is start an autosports channel that covers everything except NASCAR, and there will be ZERO "reality" shows.

Everything that has gone wrong with Speed Network has happened since Fox Sports purchased it.

Consider the petition signed.

Done whipped it, whipped it good..... (Show is soooo lame..)

Bring back actual coverage of the WRC events and would it kill them to expand on the Aussie V8 supercar coverage???

Unfortunately, I know it all to well. Ratings and "share" are what it's all about, and the shows that they are pushing now will produce more ad revenue than say a "Victory by Design" (which is a great show!!).

Sad.....

#12563, Signed. I am sooo tired of lowbrow "pimp my tired old ...." and chopper shows. Speed has become quite a bit like MTV

#13686 Now that I think about it I hardly ever watch speedtv anymore. Mostly discovery or military channel.

#14177 here!

I only wish I could still get the channel. I just don't want to pay for more cable since I get it from my home owners dues.

I moved to a new place and it's been a few month so I don't have cable yet. Was contemplating it since I missed Speed Channel. But they canceled motorcycle racing?!
Why... is it true or did I read in correctly...I'm gonna check their website.

Can't lose my F1 and MotoGP!

Those reality shows that are on Speed are weak!

Though I don not have SpeedTV, I can't agree with you more about how networks will make shows about anyhting just to bring a wider audience. The fact is when a Speed channel starts showing programs that have nothing to do with speed I think they will loose more than they will gain. Petition signed!
