Default Audi R10 TDI racing in Le Mans today.

I had no idea that this car even existed until yesterday! Looking briefly at the previews of each car in the different classes, the R10 is well respected. They say it's really quiet, but I expect that's compared to the gas engines it races against.

It'd be nice to see this technology in a street car. The 1.9 liter engine has already been put into a motorcycle chasis, but is moving very slowly towards production.

Talk about naive, I thought that the Audi was running a 1.9 TDI. After a little reserch, I found that the Audi had a V12 Twin Turbo and was way up in the horse power. Never-the-less, it was on diesel!!!

Its neat to see such a powerful engine and in a race like that being diesel. Gotta love VW/Audi.

Two of them ran in the race. The first car won by a comfortable 4 laps and the second car came in third 13 laps behind. Here's the link to the rest of the story.
