July Photo Assignment: Red, White OR Blue

This month's subject is Red, White, OR Blue, where any of the three colors should be the main subject. (See my example of my college diploma holder) Bonus points for those of you that can put all three colors together, without using something that is related to the 4th of July! :firedevil (see my example again)

As long as one (Or more) of the three colors are the dominant color in the pic, you are good!

Nice photo's so far!

I would like to clarify the assignment though. The idea is not to find red, white and blue and shoot a pic, but rather to find red, white OR blue and use it to dominate the photo. For example, my photo is mostly red, with a smidge of white and blue. TJ's is mostly blue and Toad's is mostly red again.

I'm not specifically picking on you TaterTot, your first shot works as it's mostly White. The second shot works because of the blue sky. The third, there really isn't a dominant color in there.

I goal with the red, white OR blue was to make you look at colors as a subject.

yep, that makes sense...the original crop of the 3rd photo would have probably been better than what i posted...I'll see if i can fix.

Here is another shot of mine. See how the red dominates the photo? That is what the assignment is!


It's easy to find red, white AND blue somewhere, but that isn't a challenge. The idea is to find a bunch of Red, White, OR Blue, and use that as the subject of the photo.


Does anyone think that the Red, White OR blue is too hard? If so, speak up and I'll change the assignment! I really do want lots of participation! :D

I've previously posted some photos from this wedding to a few of you. I had comments back that everyone was wearing black (true), but there were people there wearing red (and beautiful reds at that). Melbourne is a very black city; black is the new black here and has been for a long time.

None the less, the 2 "blue" shots were moments when I noticed the mono-color thing going on and said "Oh my gosh, look! everything is blue in this scene!" and took the pic.
