I obtained 222.x and 257 lbs like 16 months ago, I have to redyno it when i put my FMIC and change my TT down poipe for an Evolution one.
my mods at the dino last time were.
AVW Motor, ko3S, samco intake and k& replacement filter, 93 oct APR (used 95 gas), apr down pipe, remus (same as RSI) muffler. motor lightweight pulleys, forge DV, n75j. an inlet bored out intake manifold 4 bar fuel press and cold air to the stock IC.
3 runs were made and 3 to 4 hp were lost due to heat soak.
the changes in 90 days will be Unitronic software, big FMIC and larger injectors, and a K04/020 good for 260 whp and 290 wlbT

I think the highest hp would probably have to go to the V8 bug thats on vortex. Either that one or the VR6TT 600hp RSI they've had on ebay for a while now and what HPA has done. I'm scared to dyno mine.

Ah, HPA. One day I will purchase a 2000 APH or somesuch and just give it to them to Bi-turbo VR6/Quattro. Hmm... I wonder if I won the lottery last night.

191 whp , 211 ft lbs. On that day a 20th anniv gti dynoed 187 whp, but on a different dyno put 217 whp down, so........... and on run # 2 i lost about 15 hp due to heat soak.

That is crank HP or what? I can't believe a K03S can produce that power, please post your dyno.
I have 249 HP crank on a K04-001. See modlist in the sig link.

All I know is that I don't have the most hp and with my fat butt behind the wheel I am probably carrying the most weight.

Don't really know, but I have hit the stock chip rev limiter in fifth gear more than once, on professional road race courses... That would be in the mid 120 mph range folks..:wink2:
It's not the size that counts peeps, but "how" you handle it....

221 WHP @ 5600RPM, 259 WTQ @ 3500 RPM
13.651@ 99.57 MPH... Quickest K03S Beetle on this site and Vortex. Wait til you see what I can do with tires that aren't bald! :D
K03S running lean as hell, 14.8:1 through almost all of the midrange until boost dropped off... have since switched back to the stock MAF housing and rectified the problem.
i think i need to dyno again. i can't be beat!!!!

let me see, mods at the time were:
K03S swap
317cc Injectors
Modshack Big Mofo MAF housing (since removed for causing a lean condition... until i get bigger injectors)
Modshack BoostMachine MBC (Set to 20psi)
Cone Filter w/ Heatshield
4.3V 1W Zener Diode
2.5" catless DP
ATP VES
Poly Torque Arm Bushings
Newsouth Performance Thermal Intake Mani Spacer
Eurospec Sport FPR (set to 60 psi)
Racespec ECU Software (turns out the diode was messing with this pretty bad so now the diode is out for good)
Still looking to get some kind of intake mani (not ABD... until I see a dyno that shows real gains), probably the Kinetic exhaust manifold, go to a full 2.5" exhaust, pullies, and a better IC (possibly Boost Factory FMIC, if not, then a custom front mount).. among other things... I'm thinking about porting and polishing the exhaust housing of the original K03 i have laying around and slapping it on to see if I can coax some more top end out of it. I'd just like to see how far the "stock" turbos can go.

ive seen people 30psi and higher.... welded wg..... b4 i fried the ecu i was at about 26 and would taper off around 23... i was giac chip, 3 foot 3in. downpipe, no inlet pipe, had some green top injectors... but they wernt 440... i think 380 out of a n/a supra, no maf, wg was cranked to max, and some other thingys... prolly race gas.... idk i have it on paper somewhere...

lol, i meant how far the stock turbo can go while still being driveable and not teetering on the edge of engine destruction as well as going through turbos every 2 weeks from overspinning the living hell out of them ;) Anything much more than 22 psi is all pressure from heat rather than useable air, so its kinda pointless to go that high anyway. I'd just like to see if a nice smooth porting of the exhaust housing would help to hold boost a little longer into the rpms... although i'd still be fighting the size of the turbine wheel.

i looked into all this stuff... and it looked pointless..... i was going to clip the wheel... but i was like... i dont feel like spending money on the stupid ko3 when i have the gt30 in my room to worrie about
Scarab_Beetle
10-28-2005, 08:27 PM
naturally its not something i'd spend money on... i have a k03 or two laying around, so just something to do on a night when I'm bored... i wouldn't spend money on clipping or anything like that unless i was swapping a K04-020 compressor wheel and housing on, and a K04-001 exhaust side.... ;)
