I spoke to my local dealership on Friday - and my sales guy told me that the new triple white will be out in the spring, but it will actually have a gray top... then today I found this pic! Beautiful! I MUST own one!

I had heard that it would be a 10th Anv Special Edition in '07 (as 2007 is the 10th Model year...I know, sounds weird, but count them...) I saw there was an attachment on this thread, and was hoping for an actual pic...I would so love a triple white vert!! Would love it more in the original body style... ;)

Actually, I saw it in Vegs driving up the strip while leaving our hotel. It was a new NB and I pointed it out to Nana then realized it had white interior and wasn't Harvest. Could have possibly been after market since I didn't notice the color of the ragtop (the top was down and there was a car blocking my view), but I swear I saw what I saw... And it was miraculous... :D

One also to note. To my knowledge, this is the first white NB/NBC that has white painted trim on the doors. All previous white cars have had black there.

I'm looking for the part number of that center dash cover and/or wondering if I can use that in my XM Commander install into my 99 Coupe. I like the clean install, and I don't really want to put the XM antenna on my roof. Looks like it would just be a cable splice if the antenna comes as part of the assembly?

They produced Triple White Super Beetles from '76-79 and FWIW, the original top wasn't white, it was off-white. The color was called "Sand"

Well, beauty won out. I just couldn't trade Betty in... I sat in the triple white, ran the numbers, and almost shook the salesman's hand... then I changed my mind. I'm supposed to be "thinking on it" - but I knew the moment I pulled away that I had made the right decision. Realistically - I have 2 terriers that like to ride in the 'vert - and I would forever be worried about muddy paws on those white seats. The salesman had the triple white all prepped and ready to go, but I could STILL see dirty fingerprints in areas - so I guess my :heart: just wasn't in it. :)

I would definitely be concerned about the white interior. In fact, I'm such a freak about keeping my car clean that I would probably end up spending more time cleaning the car than actually driving it. Good choice! Besides, aquarius blue and gray is a gorgeous combo.

The local dealership got two Triple White editions in today. I watched them being taken off the truck.

The only difference between them was that one had a $499 CD changer in the trunk.

I sat in one, even though it still had all the plastic wrap on it. It looks nice in person! I like the bright white window sills.

Don't wear new jeans and don't wear jeans period if it's raining out. I had many a blue stain to remove in my GTI and it had beige leather. I imagine the white leatherette is much worse!

I went to the dealer yesterday to get an oil change and the recall done and they had one in the showroom. I would never be able to get one. Those seats are going to be hell to keep clean. My dog likes to go for rides and I would never be able to take him. Like pelican says too, watch out for blue from your jeans rubbing off and staining the seats.

I just checked my dealer website - they now have eight... yes, I said 8, triple whites in stock. How on Earth did they end up with so many?

It's all about dealer allocation driven from volume. If your dealer is pumping out a high volume of popular models, the dealer will get a higher percentage of those models. Conversely, if a dealer is not performing to sales expectations then chances are a higher percentage of slow moving models will be allocated to that dealership. This can be changed with good relationships between the dealer and it's district sales manager. The district manager is the person that decides who gets what. The region sales manager can influence that further based on the performance of the district as well.
So, it's not just a crap shoot on what dealers get what vehicles but more about performance by the dealers that drives where the popular colors, optioned and model vehicles go.

I was at the NYC autoshow yesterday and to be honest, the seats weren't that badly discolored. Not bad at all really. Mind you, this is with tons of people getting in and out and kids putting their grimy shoes all over them too.

I actually could have driven it home yesterday. But, the unknown money factor came into play. They really wanted me to get it, but I only went in to look at it. I wasn't prepared for them.

When the time is right, I'll have one. Then, I'll let you check it out, and maybe even let you drive it. ;)

Get this.....they had 3 at our dealership and NOT ONE OF THEM was leather. They were all leatherette....and $29,500. Now that's just screwy. :mad:

I didn't believe all the sales people at first...they had to show me the window stickers to prove it. :eek:

The salesguy called me to let me know it came in, and I was pretty excited. I was disappointed about the not "blinding" white, the leatherette, no Sirius. But not enough to disuade me from getting one. It's gorgeous! :bowdown:
