i HAd a 1.8t..... i dressed it up a bit , ya know oversized some stuff , anyways i'm looking at the new 06 beetles. For some reason I'm hesitant on the 2.5. I really liked the turbo feeling and sound. Also, the 1.8t had so much potential. Anyone out there with me???

Is the 2.5 capable? I miss 1.8t's

I am somewhat miffed that more of the aftermarket folks were ill prepared to start offering more add-ons for this new introduction. I know it takes awhile but things should be poping now and they are not. It almost makes you wonder if they know something that you do not. I have not had any problems with my 2.5L but I agree with BugBEGone the 1.8 was a marvel and you could do lots with it, further it has been around a long time; it is too bad it is gone.

the 2.5 is definate able, will cruse @ 70 & 80 with the top down. I also have to watch when pressing the gas petal from a stop, if I don't I spin the wheels.

Just got the 06 NBC and have 5000 miles in 2.5 months and I just love it.

Amen to that! It's been almost 1 yr. and I'm still waiting for my performance stuff to start hitting the market. It will though....we just have to be patient! :D
