TNBRU 2008??? - Poll

So...we met last night for a meeting and were trying to figure out if we are going to put on the TNBRU this year...this would be our 6th year. It is alot of work and in the past all of the participants have made it worth the effort.

The issue has always been gas prices and Roswell. They strongly impact our attendance. Last year we were victims of weather, but we still had the one of the largest showings from out of town beetles and still managed to have a great weekend.

This year we are looking at October 4th weekend (we still have an insurance policy that we can use). We would like to get a count of how many are interested and how interested people are in making the trip to Dallas for the show that weekend.

Hey Antoine. Get a trailer hitch on the beetle and you can use our other cargo trailer. It's a little larger than the one we take to Roswell. LMK and I will bring it to you. Size is 41W x 49L x 19H:D We took the larger one to Roswell in 2005

There were a few cheap trailer hitches that I didn't take advantage on the org within the last few months, but I think they are all gone now.

Yeah Ennis used to piggy back our April show...so we have been trying to stay away from them. If their's is still on Sunday maybe that would be a good weekend so NB's can hit both.

I'd have no problem with either weekend. The Tulsa show will be Sep. 20th, so 3 shows in 3 weekends would be fun. It's no wax off my paint! :lol: I'm so excited!

I'm all for a show if we can get some more regular members & help for it. I just started back to work on a contract & I'm pursuing my music so I've been quite busy... Hopefully we can discuss it more on our meeting April 20th... if you are in Dallas please come out and meet with us!!!!! :D

I guess I'll have a little more time to work on the car for TNBRU since Roswell is done. Lets see what happens between now and Oct. Lets see 600 mile trip . 30 mpg. 20 gals.of fuel at $3.40 gal= $68.00 If $5.00 gal=$100 for fuel or more, We'll still be there.:)

That is why we have this thread. To see what dates conflict and to see how many folks would be able to make it on what weekend.

We don't want to preempt Tulsa or Houston...we might have to keep it at the 4th, don't think we can move it to the middle of September (before the Tulsa show) and we can't move it forward a week, no insurance.
Who all will be lose by having it on the 4th?

I was on the Tulsa VW Club site and saw the flyer from last year and didn't notice that it was from 2007. I then proceeded to go on the host hotel's website and book my room for Sep. 22 and thought it was weird that it was on a Monday.:confused: So I went back to the VW site only to find out it was Sep. 22 of last year. I'm so :screwy: sometimes. Anyway, I'll be at this one and TNBRU for sure.:D

Ok we met Saturday for a BBQ/Mod Day & were discussing dates. Sat. Sept 13th doesn't have any shows at all scheduled so I'm working on a thread for that on the DFW site. I've already started talking to a couple vendors. I'm getting excited :)

We haven't had the date set in stone, but I'd like to have it on a weekend no shows are going on. But I also don't want it to rain either, and I can't predict the weather in Sept/Oct.. :rolleyes: We really need more TX members in DFW!
