Hi all,

I've been lurking in these forums for over 3 years now.

Currently a Mini Cooper S driver, there's a good possibility that I'll be swapping it for a 2008 NB.

If that happens, hopefully I'll come out to one of the GTGs.

Welcome

We're having a small GTG on July 3rd @7pm in the West End.
You should come and check out the buggies. Could help your research, and we would enjoy convincing you :D

Unfortunately, I was out of town for that meet. I'm still talking to the people at Don Valley VW. Hopefully in the next week or 2 I can join the ranks.

Ha ha, thanks. I've signed the paperwork, and am now just waiting for insurance and the end of this month to take delivery.

I have to recommend Danny from Don Valley VW. Quality guy, very knowledgeable.

There are two Beetle guys living near my house. One has an orange convertible, the other a silver one. Not sure the years.

We're in the Woodbine/Danforth avenue area.

I know Danny. Oriental fella right? I was dealing with him when I came close to buying a Jetta. I left a deposit. Then he calls me the next day telling me the car got sold.
Anyway, I'm glad the deal fell through .... or I wouldn't be on here right now!:D

Congrats on the bug!

Yeah, he's a Chinese guy. He told me that he sold Honda products for several months but didn't believe in them, so as a fan of VW, he switched over to selling those cars.

Anyhoo, I'll be taking delivery at the end if July, so pics will come then. It's leased, so everything will be bone-stock. I don't really believe in jazzing up a car apart from factory options. I got the sunroof, 16' wheels, and foglights. Nothing special.

Don Valley VW was able to knock off over a grand in my case and absorb one of my remaining lease payments.

I'll have to check the invoice again, but instead of $25000, my initial price was just under $24K.

Ask for Danny Leung, and say that "Mr. Cheng" sent you (he calls me that even though I'm his son's age). I'm sure he'll help you out, price-wise.

The other really great dealership is Georgetown VW. As a small dealership, they're more nimble and able to adapt to changes very quickly. Their website is updated sooner than everyone else's and they have new stock inventory checkers.
