Hi. I'm new to nb and thought maybe someone out there could give me a little advice. I bought a 99 nb with a compression problem. Yeah, right! The 2.0 AEG in it is hosed. I can't find a reasonably priced, lower miles AEG in Ohio or neighboring states, so I'm looking at a ABA, which I can find all day long for around $200. I can't figure out the swap though. Looks like the head is the same, but what about intake, etc. Anyone ever done this? Any help will be really appreciated! Thanks.

I got an ABA from Wirthman's in Cols. It was junk. Cracked oil pan with handfuls of metal shavings in it. I noticed the crack before I installed, must have had a blond moment, then when changing the oil pan, found the metal shavings. Bearings toasted. Took it back within the 30 days and they got me for almost $100. (10% restocking-they said it was fine.) I called pick-n-pull, they had one-120K for 1200.00. That's a little over my budget. Think 2x before stopping over at Wirthmans. I'm still on the hunt...I'll let ya know. Thanks

you know you can go to pick N pull and get any motor you want for like $200 right? you just gotta pull it yourself. Thats what I would do.
