Ok, What all needs to be done to switch from an Auto to a Manual. I know that you would need to replace at least these things...

Tranny (duh)
Add Clutch pedal and needed clutch parts
Cluster
$$$

anything else?

Shifter and linkage.
Why cluster? Just use Vag-Com to re-adapt the transmission.
Are the axles and cv joints part of your transmission?
Maybe starter motor.
Speed sensor.

Shifter and linkage would be considered under part of tranny, cluster because for a auto it shows what gear your in, manual it doesn't. don't know if that would cause any problems or not. wouldn't speed sensor be part of the tranny?

The speed sensor is different on a manual than on an automatic. I wasn't sure what you were calling the transmission. I was just looking at the housing, and not the attachments or sensors. Someone in New York did the transmission swap with good results in a Jetta. I'll have to ask if he reused the cluster or got a new one.

Gotcha. Didn't know about the speed sensor being different. From looking in ETKA, it looks like the tranny is seperate from the axel. Sorry bout the confusion for what I was including as the transmission.
