Hi all welcome to the New Beetle New forums!!! Anyways, I have a concern regarding my tranny in a 2002 1.8t. When stopping, just as it stops the tranny feels briefly jerky and the RPM jumps slightly and then relaxes back to a stopped state. When driving no problems just when coming to a stop, like it isn't gearing down all the way for a moment then does??? Any ideas?? Thanks for any and all responses or advice:confused: .

Sounds like your tranny is slipping. Check my post in your other thread on DIY info for changing ATF & filter.

I have the same problem with my daughter's car. When slowing down to stop sometimes the car will jerk when it downshifts into first gear. It doesn't do this all the time, but here lately it seems to do more. I did the reset where you turn the ignition to the on position and hold the gas peddle to the floor for 5 seconds. But that didn't seem to help.

Bring the car to the dealer or a tech and have the tranny fluid checked. Because the O1M auto is a sealed transmission, there is no dipstick and you need a Vag-Com to check it.
