Can someone explain to me what exactly a cleaner wax is? I was shopping around for supplies for my lil' betty blue when I came across wax bottles that were labeled cleaner wax?

Is this something you apply before you wax?

I use cleaner wax to remove oxidation, some of witch you can't even see with the naked eye, as well as swirl marks and very minor scratches. Seems to do better then normal wax. I think that's the biggest difference, of course I'm no pro.:)

It's usually the same as regular wax, but with extra cleaning agents. I use it on the back end of the NB and sometimes the doors, where it gets dirtier. On those kinds of places you can use cleaner wax for the first coat, and then your regular wax for the second coat.:)

For the NB, make sure the cleaner wax you use is "clearcoat safe."

Any recommendations on good cleaner wax? This forum seems to like Meguiar's products a lot so I may give that a shot.

Meguiars is the only wax I ever use! It goes on easy, comes off easy, and leaves a great shine. Of course there's always Zymol, but dear lord that stuff is expensive...
