2002 Beetle

Hello,

I have a '02 beetle and the dealer told me that my transmission is burning fluids and I need to get a new one.
I have about 70,000 miles on it and it hasn't even been 4 years yet. I just don't know what to do since I can't even afford to get it repaired. The powertrain warrantly is only upto 60k and I don't have an extended warranty.

What to do?????
They quoted me $4000!

Find one from a wrecked VW. Used tranny, but in good shape. Much much cheaper.

Unless someone has abused the transmission, it is very unusual for a tranny to wear out that soon. I would take it to a transmission specialist for a second opinion. They could, more than likely, rebuild yours for a lot less.
How was the car driving? Have you had something done, already.
