I'd say no.

as compared to many other verts I have ridden in the NBC is very well insulated. Very solid and quiet.

However, you really should take it for a test drive so you can hear for yourself. I live in a climate where I can have the top down 9 to 10 months out of the year, so any of the perceived benefits of the top design, are made moot by the fact that it is down.

My first vert was a New MG Midget I got in 79...:D
So not much to compare, but I have driven many verts of diff brands and my NBC is far quieter than most.:)

The NBC is very quite except when beside an 18-wheeler at interstate speeds or behind a Harley at interstate speed plus. So yes, it is very quite, warm in winter and cool in summer, with top up of course.

I agree with the other statements above. Mine is down most of the time in the city but on the highway, I don't notice any more noise than in any other vehicle with the top up.

Seriously, with the two-ply top and the excellent headliner, the NBC is quietest drop-top I've driven in a car less than $50K. Overall, it is comparable to many European convertibles for much more money - and better than many as well.

The one thing that is kinda funny is that it sounds like you're in a tent when it's raining.

I hadn't thought of that, but you're right. It is like a tent. Although... my 'stang's roof is even louder in the rain... Now I know how to describe the sound...
