how do you check tranny fluid level on 5 speed?

i have an 05' beetle 1.8t. how to i check the oil level in the tranny? thanks.

It is best to get it up on a lift so that it is level. From the front look up about six inches. There will be a 17mm hex plug on the front of the transmission. Remove the plug, and look inside. The oil level should be even with the bottom of the threads.
