Hi I was just wondering if anyone has use a microfiber towel to clean their beetle. I have been told from others that it will not leave streaks on the windows. Also that it does not scratch the paint if you would use it to wash your car. I have a microfiber towel that I use to dust my computer stuff with and have no problems there.
Any opinions would be helpful. Thank you
Microfiber towels work awesome! I use them for everything. You just have to be careful because since they clean so well they tend to fill up with dust & dirt quickly. A clean microfiber towel will not scratch anything but a dirty one will!
I bought a bulk 20-pack from a mail order company for $22 USD. Best deal I could find.

I use them on my dash and sometimes my windows. My fiance uses a microfiber sponge for the exterior of his BMW. :D No problems yet!
P.S. They also work GREAT on cleaning LCD monitors. :D Just a bit of water with the monitor off ... works great. :D Just make sure it is a clean one. :D

I use microfiber towels on the inside... seems to "grab" dust better. Haven't tried on the outside yet.

The M-F cloths work great for interior and exterior- when you wash them DO NOT use fabric softener, it prevents them from attracting dirt/dust.

I think there are a ton of things that have been made with the microfiber towels since we left the US. It will be interesting to see what there is when we get back :D

Not a bad price at all. I may have to look in to it and use them on the car so the good ones can stay in the house :goodjob:

I work for a Auto Body and Detail shop, if anyone has a Sam's Club near them they sell packs of 25 for a little less than 12$.
I always have my boss buy a pack for me when he's there. Best price I've seen yet!

microfiber is soft. it sounds like your blue towels are what are just called "shop towels".
Ohhhhh, I <3 my microfiber towels... They are the ONLY things that will touch the exterior of my car, other than raindrops, snowflakes, and bird poop...

I figured I'd find a post about MF towels on here if I looked long enough :)
I bought a 3-pack for $2.50 at Biglots last week, just to try them out. I was originally looking for something soft (cotton, maybe) to clean my pod with. I came across the micro-fiber cloths, and they felt very soft and quite "clingy" in the store so I figured they would at least be good for dusting. Wow, did they ever do a fantastic job cleaning the pod.. Not one spec of lint was left on it after drying. I used 1 to clean(frequently dipping in soapy water) and a pair to dry. They worked quite well getting the dust off the dash area as well.
Today I decided to try one out on my wife's car to see how well it did getting bird droppings off. I had to rinse the towel a lot, as in addition to the bird-do, there was alot of dirt on the car, but it did a graeat job cleaning it off. I only used warm water, no soap. Didn't look like it left any scratches behind, either.
When the weather warms up I'm gonna try waxing my pod with one :)

I have been told from others that it will not leave streaks on the windows. They make special m/f towels just for windows that, in my experience, work MUCH better than regular ones.
Micro fiber towels, in general, are great because they're much softer than cotton towels. Great for taking off wax and cleaning the delicate areas.
Save the terry cloths for the dirty work.
The ones I have for cleaning my windows work great! They take off that icky film build-up crap... what is that stuff anyway?! Snot? Boogers? Steamy breath...?
