Hi, I have a 2000, automatic, 2.0 L gaz and lately when I'm driving, let's say I'm going 110 KM/hour on the highway and for whatever reason, it seems like the transmission "slips" and all of a sudden my speed goes down to 40 KM/hour. it does it whatever speed i'm going, it slips down...won't stay in the right "gear"...What could this be? I'm really worried i have to change the whole transmission because I heard they were really expensive! Could it be something else?
Thanx!
Mariem.

When this happens, what does the tach do? Do the engine RPMs increase, stay the same, or decrease? Are you using the cruse control at the time? How many miles/KM on the car?

IT think the problem is about EPC not the transmission.. IF your EPC light is on, your ECU bypassed and reading from the map (safemode) and you can't go faster than 40KPH. IF you go to a service or a vag-com supplied service, tell them to delete the error and IT will be ok.
