Has anyone seen the kit installed on or installed the side skirt kit on their NBC? Just saw it in DriverGear and just wondering about it.

Bruintoo had them installed on his NBC but I haven't seen him on here yet.:) You might want to check out his picture thread on the old 'Org.:) I would post the link for you but my computer's being stupid and won't let me do it.

From Drivegear.. Wondering if this is just the side skirt or side skirt and fender guard...

i'm thinking that the side skirt includes those 2 pieces on the fenders, becuase the fender guards they sell are different shapes.

but i dunno for sure.

I would have to say that the side skirts do not include the
fender guards.

They want $226 for the skirts
and
$192 for the fender guards/accents.

I don't think they would put both together and only get $34
for the skirts.

Look on Ebay, I picked up a set of the fender guards for $50.

Thanks Volks-Folks.
I would only want the skirts. I have been toying with the idea of making my own. I can't find the rubber matting (not vinyl or plastic) like used on the air-cooled Beetle running boards. If I could find that kind material, I would make my own. I have already made a pattern for the NBC and made one out of the plastic stuff. I didn't like the shinny appearance. I saw an installation at Roswell last year that looked real nice and professional. Just don't remember who.

my point was, though, that the 2 parts being called "fender guards" here are nothing like the things that VW sells as fender guards.

that leads me to believe that they part of the side skirt itself. that is to say, that whole black piece in that picture there is one entity. much like this very nice ATS side skirt from 4NToy:

That ATS side skirt is great.
Thanks for the pic manoverboard987

Duffy, did you try using the carpet runner you can pick up
from a Home Depot?

Below is a link on how to do it yourself.
Not my .pdf, I did a search and the credit would go
to Toad.

Yes, that is what I bought here and made the one. It was a shinny plastic material. It just didn't look retro.

Does the $226 get you BOTH side skirts or is that per side.???$226 for the pair :dunno: almost seems...reasonable.
