Here's my super early 56 ambulance, the baja, 60 swivel seat, 57 single cab and the 510.

The buses will get started once I get moved, and the baja will be first to get said treatment. :)

The 510 is the 600 dollar special!

Me too! Are you gonna take them all with you when you move to Arizona?

Yeah, (sorry:crying:) I'm figuring 3 trips to get 7 cars out there. Luckily where the house was built I only have 1 neighbor on the left of me, nobody across the street, or on the right of me :calvin: So storage and working on them shouldn't be a hassle.:D

The single cab is 2nd on the "to-do" list

Ahhhhh *sigh*...to have storage for rescued Vw's? Priceless! :D My hubby stumbled upon a lil' VW graveyard up in the Whitewater area last week. 6 bugs, 2 baja's, 3 buses and a ghia! It broke his heart to leave them there :( But this week he's picking up a salvaged super beetle and will begin restoration, so at least he's saving one! lol

Good luck with your move! :)

The 510 does rock, I had a 72 wagon a couple years ago. That thing was bad. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b112/dannyyucaipa/5101.jpg

God that brings back memories.
My parents had a 510 wagon, between their Super Beetle and their Accord.
It was cool! We could load up an entire house in the back, and it ran on fumes (er... literally... we always had a problem where, if you didn't stick the gas nozzle in just right, it had a tendency to dislodge the pipe clamp on the fuel intake tube and fuel would begin filling up the cavity in the quarter panel... I think it actually filled up the passenger side rear taillight once... so it always reaked of gas inside).

I remember, as a kid, always being slightly envious of the 710 when it came out... because they had a "7", and we only had a "5" ;)

Geez... with VW rebranding the Golf back to being a Rabbit... do you suppose we'll see Nissan go back to being Datsun in the U.S.? :D

My sister-in-law had a B210. She wanted a beetle Champagne edition but her butthead brother told her to get the Datsun. To this day she still brings it up and that was 25 years ago! And no I don't think they'll bring back the Datsun name-nothing but problems associated with it!

Lnz, I think some things never die. :p

I don't see Datsun coming back any time soon, if at all. It is kind of the VWOA has turned their noses at the air cooled end of it.

I had a B210. My dad got it for me just after my junior year after having a '66 VW Fastback for a year. I was almost killed in the B210. So it holds a special place in my heart, since we both came back for the brink of death. Still I miss the fastback more.
