Question British Columbia - Interior???

We are thinking of trading in our Rabbit to get another Bug. Unfortunately none of the dealers seem to have any 09's on the lots. Both Vernon & Kelowna are pushing their 08's so much so that both dealerships danced around the question when asked where the 09's were hiding.
Our experience with the dealership in Kelowna has been nothing but problematic since we moved out here in 2006. We purchased our Rabbit late that year from Royal VW but find that when the gentleman that was working in financing at the time left, so did their customer service.
So we are wondering if anyone else from the Interior has received the same poor service? If so what, if anything have you done about it?
Also, does anyone know, if we can expect 2009's to appear in this NB hating, everyone drives a jacked up pick up town? Chances are we will find out more here than our local dealership. It's sad but true.
We have been contemplating many different vehicles but find ourselves keep coming back to the bug for sentimental reasons.

You've probably already done this but - I just pulled up VW/Canada and searched dealers somewhat close to you. Clarksdale VW in Vancover had a Salsa Red 2009 listed as sold.

What really surprised me was after looking at a half-dozen or so dealer websites most do not list their new car inventories -but yet they list preowned.

Out of curiosity I pulled up Carter VW in Seattle -- they've got plenty of 2009 New Beetle (both coupe and convertible).

After all this I'm sorry I haven't been more help - but good luck.

Can't you get one here in WA? I know people here were going to BC for Mini's awhile back.

Well let me tell you what I found for 09 beetles and I did consider it but just did a deal on an 09 Rabbit.

I know it is a long ways from you but I had NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO luck these past few months with serious, professional, no-dooping-game-playing service in the Lower Mainland. In fact, I launched a file with VWof Can about the fact that I want to buy/lease something within the brand and seemed to find drama involved everytime I tried. So I came over to my parents place so Dad could help and support me. We have a sales person and management team (father and son) who were not surprised about my stories and were having more and more people from the Lower mainland come over to deal here. It is a ferry ride away and they will even come to pick you up, but of course they will want to see your trade.

Harbourview in Nanaimo has a new spec edition colour (lightblue that looks grey) hardtop sitting in the back of their lot. It still has some of the packing wrap on it. The colour is beautiful. They also have an 08 that was a demo, it's Royal Blue and they were ready to make a GOOD deal on it if I was ready for a Beetle. They also tore off a HOLD sign on a nice Salsa Red with tan interior hardtop yesterday when I was there so that is up as well. A white special order is there on the lot and they are motivated to sell it too, it has light tan interior.

Not to forget many convertibles and of course, mine will join their lot come Friday.

So feel free to mssge me through here...I can give you some details and also help you find their number if you want to place an inquiry call, ask for Steve Arnold and tell him Tamara posted online about it. I am working on him for some monster mats so a referral would be awesome for me too.

My rabbit was not on a lot.....it was on Annacis Island. The lots are so full and things are not moving enough to bring cars onto the lots as they have to pay for them once they do. So you will have to find a dealer good enough to search the computer inventory at Annacis Island. This is what Harbourview did for me....then went today to pick it up and bring it back over the ferry. They will do that for you as well.

Thumbs up Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks for the info Buttercup and to the other posters.
We decided to play the waiting game but have again come back to the idea of buying a Bug. It doesn't matter how many times we stray from this idea, we always seem to come back to it.
At present there is a Silver-Red limited edition NBC sitting outside of our local dealership that keeps calling to us.
We have been back to visit it a few times now and if we don't end up purchasing it then we will likely wait until next year to purchase a new car. If that should be the case, I really hope by then that VW will enlighten us on the future of the NB in Canada.

That NB is the special edition Flint Convertible. I bet it looks a little something like:

Its going to be a 2005 2.0. Personally, i think if you want a NBC, get one thats 2006 with the 2.5 unless you can get a TDI Convertible in Canada.

Default Silver-Red Beetle

The Silver-Red Beetle is a 2009 limited edition Beetle with only 130 of them available.
I'm still trying to figure if Canada received these instead of the Blush Limited Edition???

Oh yea! I forgot about that one. Hmm, I haven't seen any Blush Beetles in person yet. Mostly coupes. Oh, and The local vw place is still selling Triple White Verts.

So it's official we purchased the Silver-Red NBC yesterday.
Strangely on the way to the dealership, I saw for the first time a Flint Edition NBC. I figured it must have been a sign to get my butt over to the dealership and surprisingly the transaction went very well.
We pick up our new car tomorrow and if things go as well as they did yesterday, I'll actually have to retract my bad dealership experiences here.
