Default DEAR LORD.....Dealer rant...

Recently moved up to Sudbury and needed some things done to my car along with the roof/coilpack recalls... Dont know of any reputable mechanics so I call the dealer...
Long Story short.
Parts and Labor:
DV valve Replacement... $500 ???????-------------(The Forge 007 is only $150)
Turbo.... $2000 +--------------------------------(can get a BW Ko3s for $699. so thats 13 hrs labor???)

Holy christ this place is insane....

I've seen the 710N DV that is stock on later 1.8Ts new for under $50--if you have a pair of pliers you can replace it in 5 minutes easy. Turbos can be a nightmare--i.e. broken studs, cramped quarters and lots of parts removal to get an old one out and the vice-versa a new one in, but yes that seems high.

So what's the poop...??? Did you find a mechanic to do it or are you DIYin..??? Was Chris able to help you...???
