Easy to do, but you'll create a problem, in that they are designed to only run as needed, and this includes AFTER you have turned off the ignition and the engine has heated to a temp hotter than when you shut it down. They will typically run for up to 10 min after engine is turned off. And what about winter, when you want the coolant temp higher.? This will probably also interfere with all the things that are designed to operate at a certain temp. Old school, we always took the thermostat out for cooler running, you wouldn't dare do that today. As a matter of fact, I could trick out the cooling on a big block and not get the temp guage up off the peg! No heat in the winter, but damn my engine ran long, cool, and forever. Remember, OLD SCHOOL.

But as I always suggest to anyone with more knowledge than the engineer(s) that design something, go for it. I can look at the wiring schematic in the Bentley and tell you how to do it if you'd like!

I agree with Vette. There is a reason why newer cars are designed the way they are. My 73 Dodge Dart, never put a thermostat in it once it failed. New cars are computer driven and if you screw around with some things it will cause issues that you never expected.

If you are having issues with overheating then find what the root cause is.

What kind of issues are you having? There are alot of other options that we can discuss depending on the cause(s). I've been through a pile with my Bugs so I know what can be done.

Unhappy Cooling fan issues also

Hi all. I have also considered hooking up the fans so they come on as soon as I start the car since my cooling fans don't come on when they should. They work when I connect them directly to the battery, but that's it. I checked all the fuses in the fuse compartment. Can anyone help?

Are you driving on the track?

What kind of motor? 2.0, 1.8t, VR6?

Do you have a mechanic?
