Default USB Audio Hook Ups Coming For VWs

Why they don't mention the NB is beyond me, but this is way cool

They will probably be implemented in the newer platforms, i personally dont think the beetle will see it.

Just sounds like a fancy 3.5mm jack set-up. I have an mp3 player that accepts memory cards and with the accessory plug on the NB I guess I already have a similar setup. Yes, USB is far more universal with newer electronics and lets the radio convert a digital signal, but almost everything that you listen from also has a 3.5 mm jack.

I honestly think that the world will someday use the SD card format for just about everything from movies to data storage to car stereo's. Imagine how much time you will spend looking for things when they get that small.

Course, Sony will still have that stupid memory stick to frig things up.

I have a Clarion HU with a USB port in my NB and it has all but made the CD obsolete for me. I have a 1GB usb drive that I throw the tunes on and I just plug that and go from home to the car to the office and back. It is a beautiful thing. I could hook up my MP3 player using the jack, but the current limit on all USB equiped HUs is a 1GB directory, so I would have to split my MP3 player drive into 1 GB sections.

Just my 2 cents. Love the USB port on my stereo...So much so that I got rid of XM...

That would be awesome...I have to admit, though, the 3.5mm on my HU lets me plug just about anything in, like dunno said. Sat Radio and MP3's sound great! Guess it would be nice to be able to use inexpensive flash drives too, though!!
