Default Monsoon speaker replacement

My wife's '03 Beetle appears to have a blown RR speaker. We're going to see if the dealer will replace it under warranty, but I have my doubts that they will. If that's the case, I'll be handling the replacement myself.

Anyone have an idea of what a replacement Monsoon speaker costs or a suggestion as to an aftermarket upgrade?

VW replaced my wife's Right door speaker under a CPO warranty. Unless the system is modified, they should have no arguement.

Thanks. I hope my dealer does the same. The audio system is stock and I don't feel like pulling the car apart to do it myself.

It's not too bad. I have since replaced my wife's door speakers (she never managed to blow the backs) with some nice mid-bass speakers (they are only Pyle components, but they sound VERY nice!)

Call Crutchfield.com - they have all the sizes, adapters (free if you buy speakers) and install directions. If you are a new customer and you get a referral from an existing customer you and the referrer get $25 off.

I buy most of my auto audio from them and their Charlottesville location has done several installs for me. They are the best there is.
