Default CD stuck!

I have a factory-installed single CD player in a 2004 new beetle. A CD is now stuck within and won't eject. There doesn't seem to be a re-set or a manual eject on the system. Have tried eject button, turning off/on. . . just gives a whirrrring sound and later will tell me there's no CD in the changer. You can "feel" a CD in the system though if you try to put another in there. Any ideas, short of taking it in the shop?

Take the cd player out! It sounds scarry but if you have the Radio ramoval keys (found on ebay for 7.00) Take the cd player out, once out there are four screws on the top side of the playe. Remove the top cover and theres your stuck cd. The shop is also an alternative, but how much would that cost?? specially if you go to the stealership ($80.00 diagnostics bla, bla, bla, Etc, etc)

2004 means there still should be some shred of warranty left on the car. Do NOT take this guy's advice if you have warranty because if the player is defective and you open it (there are seals on the back of the unit), you just cost yourself $500 (the retail cost of a new Monsoon CD player from the dealer; non-Monsoons are about $450). Of course, if there's over 50k on the car, then by all means proceed at your own risk (this trick does work, I've used it myself on my 2000 Jetta with the CD player), but if there's warranty left, just bring it in and let VW take care of it. That's what a warranty is put on cars for; so you don't have to deal with issues like this for the first 4 years or 50,000 miles.

In the future, please indicate if there is still warranty left on the car as this will allow us to make an accurate synopsis of the situation and tell you the best course of action.
