Question Turn Traffic Reports OFF???!!!

Any ideas how I do this? It says in the 'dashboard manual' "you can turn off the traffic reports..." but doesn't say how. Useful for out going journeys, but really annoying when I just want to listen to music!!

(I have the standard radio, not the monsoon one)

Thanks in advance

Do you have Sirius or XM?

Ummmm.... no idea - the picture matches the "gamma" one in the manual - it has cd and tape buttons, and rounded corners on everything.

Do you have the CD head unit? There's a bunch of buttons across the top of the LCD. One or more of them will control the RDS / TA functions. My *guess* is to play around with them.

If it's the tape unit, try pressing "FM" button until the TP thing in the corner goes away. You may need to retune your favorite stations on the FMI or FM II band it comes up in.

Thanks - that worked. How annoying was that though?! Really need to fit a cd player, since I have no cassette tapes any more, and the radio (even 8 different stations) annoys me muchly! Can't find the plug for it in the boot though, (where the manual says it is) so will be researching in this section lots!

Left hand side if the trunk, inside the lining (there's a little black knob you can do to get inside the cavity).

It's not for a normal iPod, it's for a particular brand of rebranded OEM CD changer. There are convertors available for other brands of changer as it's the same plug for a lot of VW's. Unless you know what you're doing, I recommend getting a good installer to do this as there's some changes to the existing harness behind the dash required as well (something to do with the K wire or something as the diagnostics computer gets unhappy with third party units when it turns the car on).
