I am getting ready to install a new unit in my bug,Can I just take out the radio fuse or do I need to disconnect the battery completely?

Gee, i did my entire system without disconnecting my battery. Except for connecting the power lead. And then like 2 months later when the system killed the factory battery.

Seriously, if you use a harness to connect the radio to the factory harness without splicing anyhting. If you do all the wiring before plugging it in, and double check everything, I dont see a problem with leaving hte battery connected.

But then again, i'm lazy.

if you are wiring everything while the system is plugged in, then you will have problems, otherwise, just wire up the stereo with the harness, then plug and play, but still better to take off terminal on battery (i guess im the lazy kind as well. lol)
