Default Auto-Volume-Reduction shizz!!!

is it just me or does the the volume on my stock 1999 "head-unit" reduce the volume during acceleration or throttle input? I just want the volume that I sellected to stay where I wanted it to be!*$@&* Sometimes I'll crank it during an intrumental bit and when the louder bit comes back I can easilly tell that some "automated" force is holding back on me. If I want to blow my speakers or my ears that should be up to me!
