I'm going to be installing the XM Commander into my 99 GLS New Beetle very soon, I'm going the Blitzsafe route, thru the factory CD changer cable in the trunk.
Before I route the antenna outside the vehicle on the roof, I've read mixed reviews that it works well and not so well on the dash. I know the NBC has the antenna on the dash but I don't know from experience if it works well or not? I'm thinking if it's even possible to buy a new center dash panel from the 2005 NBC with the XM satellite antenna installed to make a nice clean install. Has anyone attempted this in a Coupe and are there any fit issues? It appears the dash is identical with exception the Monsoon System. I have been unable to locate the part on any of the VW part sites I typically use and have yet to visit the dealer to get the details. |
