Default Wires under driver seat

Hey, I pulled my driver seat forward the other day and noticed that two wires had broken. They connect to under the seat, and run to the seatbelt area near the console. One is black, one is yellow. Anyone know what these are for?

On a side note, my driver side heated seat isnt working.....coincidence?

I don't think it's a coincidence.

they are the airbag and heated seat closed loop wires. Mine broke too, and set off my airbag light....There was a tech service bulliten on the wiring harness, and mine was repaired under warranty. Call your local stealer.

Hope this helps.

I didn't see an "electronics" forum, so I figured this would have to do. It's a 2000 1.8T with cloth heated seats.

The strange part is that my airbag light isnt on. The check engine light is however, but that has been on for ages. (Problem fixed, light just wasn't reset. I reconnected the wires with butt connectors, but nothing has changed. No heat for the seat.

Probably the most frustrating repair experience for me ever since the wire broke about 4 inches from the harness plug, its kinda dark under there, and its hard to get two hands and a crimping tool under there! I could have taken the seat off, but I really didnt know how. I doubt it will be covered under warranty sice the car is 6 years old, but my last thing was (broken passenger window), but that was an actual recall.
