cant relate to this specific radio but have seen this happen before. the volume control is actually a cover over the actual turning thing. it is simply sliding because it has been stripped. its just normal wear and tear. see if you can pull the knob off and look at the problem. if you can see what is doing it i would CAREFULLY glue them together so you get no further problems. (maybe help?)
