Default Is there a manual eject button for CD Changer Cartridge w/o power?

Is there a manual eject button on a 2001 TDI Beetle CD Changer? I installed an iPod adapter to my Monsoon Cassette Radio and forgot I left some CDs in the cartridge. I do not want to remove the radio again and deal with the cabling to get power back to the changer. It appears that is where you get the power from so pressing the button now does not eject the cartridge.

Here is hoping for a manual eject button.

Thanks

tj

Sorry, I don't know of any button like that. But here's sending your post back to the top of the list, where maybe someone else can help you!

Bump...

I am hoping if there is not a actual manual eject button someplace inside the CD unit (if I remove something to get to it or something), then maybe someone with electronic knowledge can tell me if and how to send power and ground to this CD unit so it can eject the cartridge. I would think there is a plug on the CD unit that if I unplug it and somehow run two wires to it to provide power from a spare 12v battery just long enough to pop that cartridge out.

Thanks

I bet you can power it up.

There is no manual eject; I killed a cd changer trying to extract my cartridge.

I would suggest you take the route of powering up the unit.

Sorry I dunno enough about the system to know which 2 pieces are 12v and gnd.

Yeah, your best bet is to plug it in. If you had a wiring diagram of the plug, all oyu need is the ground and posotive power wires plugged in, instead of going through the whole process of plugging the cable back in behind the radio.

If you do manage to get the cartridge out without power, there'll probably be a cd stuck in the player mechanism anyway.

Find someone else with a VW and plug it into their CD connector.

That's exactly what I did. If anyone has a working unit, plug it into theirs. The changer isn't hard to remove. I wouldn't want you crossing up some wires trying to jumper it and blowing up your changer. It's two screws and one connector.
