Unhappy Newbie needs help with OEM Radio

My wife drove her car to work yesterday and her radio worked fine. When she left work the radio wouldn't turn on. The screen is completely blank but the lights around it on the buttons for the radio work just fine. I checked the fuse in the fuse box and it looks fine. Does anybody know what is going on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
She has a '99 NB

Did you check the fuse on the back of the deck?

Several options:

1) See if your local dealer is generous to pull the deck.
2) Ask a local install shop to borrow their keys for 2 seconds.
3) Grab a couple of jigsaw blades (wrapped with tape to protect the trim plastic) and gently press.

Just about anything thin enough and long enough will push the retaining clips, but be gentle an patient.
