Default real quick radio question

About 7 months ago I traded in my NB for a Cabrio. Yesterday I traded the Cabrio back in for my old NB. Anyway I lost the little booklet in the manual about the radio code. I remember the code is something extremly simple, like 1400, for my car. What I do not remember is the procedure.. what do I push after I enter in the code? Thanks

text from the manual: (love the last line - goofy manual) (I think I got rid of the gobbledy-gook from the scan)

Anti-Theft Coding

When the unit is turned off and the ignition key is removed from the ignition switch, the flashing LED 2, indicates that the radio is equipped with an anti-theft coding system. See the Radio Card for the code.
If the unit is removed from the vehicle, this anti-theft coding electronically prevents the unit from being re-used by unauthorized persons.
"SAFE" appears in the display whenever:
- the radio is disconnected from the vehicle electrical system
- the battery is disconnected
- the radio fuse burns out.
If this happens, the correct code must be entered before the unit can be operated again.
The code number and serial number are provided on labels which are affixed to the "Radio Card" located in the front of this booklet.
Canceling the Electronic Lock
Perform the steps in exactly the following order:
Turn on the radio. "SAFE" will appear in the display.
After 3 seconds, the number 1000 will appear in the display.
Use the radio station preset buttons 1 to 4 to enter the code number found on your Radio Card. Use preset button 1 to enter the first digit in the code number. Use button 2 to enter the second digit, etc. The value range for each of the 4 digits is "0 ... 9". The digit will increase by 1 each time you tap the preset button. The number returns to "0" after "9".

After you finish entering the code, press the right side (">") of the SEEK button 8 for longerthan 2 seconds untilyou hear an audible signal.
If you've entered the code number correctly, "LSM" will appear in the display. The unit is now ready to use again!
Wrong Code Number
If you've accidentally entered a wrong code number, "SAFE" will appear in the display. Initially it'll flash, then stay on.
You can repeat the procedure again one time. The number of attempts will appear in the display.
If the wrong code number is entered again, the unit will be disabled for about 1 hour. Leave the unit ON and the key in the ignition switch for this hour. After the hour has elapsed, the number of attempts will stop being displayed and you can cancel the electronic lock once again.
Remember, the cycle is....
- 2 attempts .
-one hour locked. .
' Note
If you loose your Radio Card, contact your authorized VOLKSWAGEN dealer.

new update: basically no matter what I did I coudlnt get the code to work. Called the VW dealership.. $80 to get me the code. I told them it said it was free in the manual and they said no way they would do it for free. So I said forget that if I have to pay $80 I might as well get a new radio. So I spent all day going places to try to get a radio installed before my 6 hour drive this night. Everywhere was booked with remote starts. FINALLY I got a Best Buy a few towns away. I bought a nice Pioneer radio, and when I got there at 6 tonight, after hours and hours on this.. hes like.. well dude I could just get you the radio code. !!!!!

I thought about it, and I thought since I went though so much effort I was just going to get the new radio and put it in. He said its a brand new mounting system for the NB. The old ones look like **** and they just kinda stick out.. but this was really nice. It fits the curves of the dash and looks like it should be there. Anyway, no more radio hassles.
