Default Sirius S50 Install advice wanted

I received a Sirius Portable S50 sat radio and car adapter for Christmas. Our 03 NBC has the stock Monsoon radio w/tape deck (no CD). I also received the Sirius home adapter. This receiver unit works as both a sat receiver and MP3, in that it records/stores satellite music and PC downloads. It uses bome and car docking ports. From what I've read on this site so far, it looks like the the antenna will install on the dash, under the center plenum cover. Any other pointers or experiences with this type of system will be gratefully accepted
Thanks,
Bill

You didn't state where your power is coming from (and I'm not familiar with the S50) but an in-line fuse would be a good idea, depending.

Christopher,
Pwr will come from OEM outlet below dash, which is protected.
Also, there is an interface unit that goes in the FM antenna line that lets the S50 (Portable Receiver) talk to the OEM stereo. When you're just carrying this unit (on your belt, with earbuds)it acts like a MP3or IPOD, as it stores whatever your save from SIRIUS broadcast or download fm your PC.

Cool

I have my S-50 car dock mounted to the far left side of the passenger grab bar (and facing me). You'll want to trim some excess metal from the side of the plate (the plate sticks out a bit). It's a very sturdy mount. Yes, I have the power going to the accessory 12v. beneath the dash and I hard wired the FM modulator to the rear of the audio head. (I have a '99...)

This is the mount that I'm using...

Alan,
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, your link just takes me to the home page. Was there an item or part number you wanted me to look at??
Thanks!
