Default no volume after radio change

I just took out an aftermarket radio/cd which had been installed in the 2002 turbo s I just bought, didn't work too great............put in the original standard radio.........reset the code...........radio turns on the station, everything works.................EXCEPT.........no volume?

Anyone have any ideas as the sound was working fine with the old system up until I removed it.

Thanks

What else did the cut/take out when they put in the other radio I wonder? Did they disconnect the speakers from the monsoon perhaps?

Default no volume

Thanks for your response.

The other system worked fine in terms of volume, minutes before I disconnecetd it. I don't think I disconnected anything I shouldn't have.........the stock vw wiring connectors had been connected to the new system with an adaptor, so I was able to simply reconnect the plugs into the back of the stock vw radio, connect what I guess is the arial cable............couldn't see anything else to connect?

There is a fuse in the back of the radio. Check that. Also check all of your connections just for fun.

The monsoon system is in the rear of the car by the driver's side tail light. You need to pull up (or out) the trunk carpet and look to your left while standing on your head. You will see the box back there. It's possible that there is a fuse out there.

Other than that, I have no other ideas.
