CD changer won't accept magazine

2001 trunk mounted 6 CD changer - magazine will not lock in when loaded or no CDs in mag. Was working fine with same set of CDs. Was able to remove and determine locking pin is not sliding over when magazine loader is depressed. Power and signal is fine to unit.
Anyone actually ever work on these or can recommend a direct replacement unit?

First insure you are putting it in right side up. With the open side facing left

Then insure all CDs or in right side up and fully seated with none jammed between the correct slots.

Then gently push down, the CD changer should retract the cassette away from your finger and lock it down so you can now close the cover. Be sure the cable in the trunk is connected properly to the CD changer...

It will take a few moments for the CD player in the dash to be ready to used the CDs you just loaded.
