Default OEM Radio problem, please help!

I saw a thread earlier about this, but I'd like to ask it in a different way. I am interested in replacing my '99 Factory (Non-Monsoon) radio with one that has the Aux input. Does anyone know if the wiring harness is the same? I know there would be an extra part for the line-in jack, but it should work with my CD changer, right?

My '99 factory radio's buttons are starting to fail, so I'd like to replace it.

Speaking of which, does anyone here, specifically around the Northern California area, have a factory radio sitting around that they pulled out to be replaced by something nicer? If you do, I'd like to discuss buying it off of you, or if you know where I can get a newer factory radio for a good price?

Thanks!
Nick

the factory radios go on ebay all day long from 75-100. and i would suggest replacing your factory non monsoon with a monsoon one. they sound so much better. and what wiring are you talking about? be more specific? you need rca cables? and for what? a system? you can buy rca outputs that just wire into your stock wires. and it only needs to be wired from 1 speaker so you can do it to one of the back ones and run a shorter rca to the back of the car to save some cash.

I'm talking about the factory harneses for the stock radio. Will they plug right into the back of a newer factory radio that has the Aux input? Also, for that aux input that comes with the newer factory radios, is that a seperate wire?

as far as i know all the new beetles have the same wiring harness. not sure if the aux will need a new wire ran or not though. it should plug in just fine but not sure if the aux will work. always worth a try though. but by aux you are talking about the red and white hook ups right? what do you need them for? you can buy ones that will wire into ANY radio. and they are easy to do. its only a couple wires. and then you wouldnt have to worry about finding one with aux.
