Monsoon 8 Speaker... so where are they?

My 01 Sport had the Monsoon 8 Speaker system and I assumed I had 2 speakers (mids) in the dash, 2 speakers (tweeters) in the A pillars, 2 in the door (woofers) and 2 in the back (weird midrange/woofer things.).

I recently disassembled the A pillar cover and was shocked to find there are no speakers there. Are the two speakers elsewhere, or was the "8 speaker" system a marketing gimmick where they included additional drivers on the same physical speaker in their count?

The dash has a 3" mid and a 1/2"tweeter in it.

Then why did they put a grill and mounts for tweeters in the A-Pillar? WHY?!?!

Just kidding... it makes sense, but confused the heck out of me. I expected to find tweeters there.

Because the regular non-Monsoon system has speakers there and it costs extra money to produce 2 different A-pillar covers. Economics.
